The Thermador Star-Sapphire dishwasher represents the pinnacle of dishwashing technology with its StarDry system, third rack flexibility, and near-silent operation.

StarDry technology uses natural zeolite minerals to absorb moisture during the drying phase. In hard water areas, mineral deposits can gradually coat the zeolite container.

Rinse aid is not optional in Scottsdale. The mineral content in our water means that without adequate rinse aid, virtually every load will show spotting. Set your dispenser between 4 and 6.

The spray arms can become partially blocked by calcium deposits. Monthly inspection and cleaning of the spray arm ports prevents reduced cleaning performance.

Running a monthly empty cycle with dishwasher cleaner or citric acid solution dissolves mineral buildup inside the wash chamber and on the heating element.

If your Star-Sapphire displays error codes related to water intake or drainage, hard water deposits in the water inlet valve or drain pump may be responsible.

For Scottsdale homes without whole-house water softening, consider installing a point-of-use water softener on the dishwasher supply line.
